Introduction
Challenge and Rarity: Colour Coding of text and text boxes is used to highlight challenge and rarity. Little of the material in the exhibit is plentiful or common to see on the philatelic market. Many postal history dealers' stock stops at 1900, 1936, 1952, or 1970.
Discovery Items that are not known used on cover or piece from other sources are highlighted and bosed in purple. The numbers known to date are indicated. Scarce items from short periods of use, short periods of rate, or discovery items with more than two known are highlighted in orange. Uncommon Items are highlighted in mid‑blue.
Organization: The presentation is chronological within rate periods, with registered service before special delivery. The label types on the covers are described in terms of dimensions, barcode width and the width of the "decoded" text. Covers showing the back label are shown in proximity to the front label, even when the back label is used in a later period. The prologue at the bottom of this page shows the services that were replaced and the epilogue at the bottom of page 8 shows the combined re branded "Special Delivery" service with silver labels that replaced Guaranteed Delivery on 1998 October 12.
